Like Ted Kaczynski's (aka the Unabomber) manifesto, Joe Stack's manifesto comes across as being pretty reasonable. On a quick read, I didn't see anything I strongly disagreed with except that both men, obviously, took their frustrations out in the wrong way.
Stack claims early in his manifesto that it took him years to unlearn his childhood lessons. It's a shame that it took so long, because it's obvious that he brought a lot of the pain upon himself. For example, he says he tried to emulate the tax-dodging ways of the Catholic church. That was an obvious and unnecessary mistake that cost him a lot of money and time.
Both Kaczynski and Stack's greatest mistake was letting stuff get under their skin. Everybody has to deal with crap. Here were two privileged people (both were white, intelligent, educated and skilled males) that had a lot less crap to deal with than the average person and neither couldn't keep it together.
